In an effort to assist pilots all over the world, in 1989 a worldwide weather reporting format was created – METAR/TAF. This presentation, along with the accompanying PDF, provides comprehensive information about the U.S. METAR/TAF weather formats.
These materials show how to interpret weather information presented via METAR/TAF. While METAR/TAF was designed to provide consistent worldwide reports, some countries have been allowed special exemptions. This DVD presents information regarding U.S. METAR/TAF weather formats. When looking at reports from other countries, be aware that they may be slightly different than those in the United States.
